We interrupt your regular scheduled programming...I've been experiencing some technical issues and every time I try to post anything, my computer crashes.

Phoenix Project: Day 110

Today we went for dinner at Mary and Zach's.

DELICIOUS!

It was so good - she made enchiladas with pork tenderloin, black beans, corn, cilantro/lime rice, lettuce, salsa...the WORKS! I'm not kidding, it was so amazing! There's something truly wonderful about having someone else cook dinner for you! It always tastes so much better! Besides swapping gross and funny stories, they taught us a new card game...which I have to practice a lot so I can go back and beat Mary!

Phoenix Project: Day 108

I was delaying this post because I REALLY wanted to post the photos to go with it but I haven't been able to track any down yet.

Bob was really involved with a church activity - a black and white event that featured skits highlighting New York in the last 100 years. Bob dressed up like Charlie Chaplin, John Travolta like character from Grease and a member of the Village People. He did an AMAZING job and it was SO FUNNY to watch! After the skits were over we stayed for a couple of hours to dance. It was a really great date night and as soon as I can get some photos, they'll be posted!

Phoenix Project: Day 107

Kailyn usually has piano on Thursday nights but tonight is a little different. She's been practicing the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Theme song, "I Believe" at school and gave an impromptu performance for her ballet teacher. I received an email from her ballet teacher asking if Kailyn would sing for the ballet recital in a couple of weeks. So, we tracked down the sheet music and some accompaniment for her and tonight she was practicing her song.

It's really inspiring to hear her sing such an empowering song, especially when I've had a long day...or week...or month ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 106

I'm usually alone on Wednesday nights because Bob has Ventures with the YM and then he plays hockey with his friends until 11:30. So...today I am so grateful for TV I can watch online! I can catch up on all my favorite shows and relax for a few hours...I love Parks & Rec, 30 Rock and occasionally a little Criminal Minds.

It's the perfect time to crack open a diet coke with lime, kick my feet up and relax!

Phoenix Project: Day 105

My work week is a little off this week because of the holiday Monday so I was in the office today. I still had to take Lukas to ninjutsu as soon as I got home and I was running late. Sometimes I feel like I'm pulled in so many directions...I raced in the door and my wonderful kid-sitter, Jinaye, had already feed Lukas and Kailyn and Lukas was dressed and ready to go to class.

I know I can't be everywhere at once and take care of everything but it's so reassuring that I have a wonderful kid-sitter to help me!

Phoenix Project: Day 104

Back to the side job again today! More painting, more cleaning, more touch ups and fixing. Another long day but we finished almost all the painting and completely cleaned the kitchen. The rest of the building still needs to be cleaned but Kelly and I will go back later this week.

The best part of my day was listening to music on Kelly's iPod...with Bob singing to EVERY song including Miley Cyrus and ABBA! Music really makes a long day fly by - I think that we were all so tired today that it was difficult to even make conversation...but all the paint fumes and cleaning agents made things a lot funnier! Sometimes I would look at Richard and laugh ;)

I'm so glad we're almost done! Of course that means we'll be on to the next project!

Phoenix Project: Day 103

Sunday, the day of REST and today was a small reprieve from the "side job". I am so tired today! I could barely get myself out of bed and EVERYTHING hurt. I'm really sore and muscles are all stiff from holding a paint brush and paint can all day Saturday. After church we came home, had a late lunch and then I had a NAP! It was the most WONDERFUL thing in the world! I usually have problems falling asleep and staying asleep especially if I'm trying to nap during the afternoon but NOT TODAY! I fell asleep almost instantly and slept from 5 - 7. It was miraculous! I got up for a few hours then back to sleep at 10:30. WOW! I really needed the extra rest because tomorrow it's back to work!

Phoenix Project: Day 102

Friday was really exhausting! We put in a long day, mostly cleaning and prep for painting...and there was a lot to do. The kitchen was really gross! They had a deep fryer so the whole thing had a browny, caked on layer of grease - nasty! Today was priming...lots of priming! The original colors were orange and bright blue so it was a challenge to cover it up. But, it's amazing what the 4 of us can get done in a day! We all work really well together and no one slacks off - which is FANTASTIC!! The woman who is renting out the space came in to watch us work for a bit and she was amazed at how much work we could do - especially Kelly and I. We're pretty tough and we can do pretty much whatever the guys can do.

I think the best part of my day was coming home and putting my feet up! I don't think I really appreciated having the spare time to just relax at home. It seems like I'm always working, which is a good thing but sometimes I miss having some down time.

Phoenix Project: Day 101

Friday...usually on Fridays I go to the gym with Kelly and then we clean houses until the kids get home from school. Today is a little different though. We skipped the gym and Bob and Rich took the day of work and the 4 of us headed out together to work on a side job. Occasionally we pick up these random jobs and spend a few days working our butts off to make a little extra cash. This job is gutting, cleaning and painting an ice cream parlor.

The BEST part of side jobs like this is that I get to swing a sledge hammer!! It's nice to be able to take my frustrations out on something...and get paid for it!

Phoenix Project: Day 100

100 days...
100 good things...

I was talking to a friend today and she said that whatever the situation, good or bad, we should ask ourselves, "What did I learn from that". These last 100 days have been challenging at times but I've learned a lot...I'm still learning. I actually considered wrapping this project up but then I crashed my car and the thought crossed my mind that I still have more to learn from this. I've been torn between feeling frustrated that something like this could happen. I mean, haven't we been through enough? But the rest of me feels so incredibly grateful that I was so lucky--nothing serious happened and no one was seriously hurt...that's miraculous considering everything.

But since I feel frustrated first and grateful second, I think I have more to learn. Hopefully, this is enough of a lesson and I'll get it now ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 99

Lukas woke up this morning really worried about what the kids at school would say about his face. It's not too bad but his lip is still really swollen. Lukas has always been really self conscious and concerned about what other people, particularly his peers, think about him. He's careful when he picks out his clothes and how he wears his hair and when he looked at me with his swollen little face and said, "Do I have to go to school today? The kids will all laugh at me..." I didn't know what to do. I missed most of work on Monday already and I really needed to go to work.

I sent out a bunch of texts to everyone I could think of to see if someone could come and stay with him so I could go to work. Regan cleared some of his schedule so he could stay with Lukas during the morning and Kelly took shift #2 in the afternoon. Any other day, any other week, staying home with Lukas wouldn't have been a huge deal. But, I needed to work and I didn't want to feel like a bad mom for sending him to school. What a huge blessing for me to have Regan and Kelly step in and take over so I could be at work and Lukas could have a day to recover.

Phoenix Project: Day 98

I would have to say the best part of my day was watching Lukas in his ninjitsu class. His instructor has started giving out stripes for students that are making progress - they can receive up to 4 stripes. At the end of class today, he called Lukas forward to receive a stripe. I have never seen him so happy and so proud of himself!

While we were getting the kids ready for bed, Lukas was telling Bob all about his new stripe and then...he fell...on face! Poor Lukas! His nose is likely broken and he's got some bruising around is nose and his eyes. He also has bruising INSIDE his upper lip! I've never seen a bruise INSIDE a mouth before! He's feeling much better now and we had good snuggle before he went to bed. He's such a trooper!

Phoenix Project: Day 97

Monday...wow! Monday's are usually a tough day because it's Monday and the weekend is over and it's back to work again. Today was particularly fun because I had to deal with the car and insurance stuff but, lucky for me, my boss was awesome and I was able to go into work late. It's been a huge blessing that things are moving along really smoothly. Now, I'm just waiting to see whether they can fix Roxy or not.

KC wanted to do something to make me feel better so she got up early and cleaned up the house! What a great kid! I could get used to this ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 96

Today I just tried to relax and get some rest. There were three highlight moments:

1. Kelly made us dinner! Hooray! I love dinner but was way too tired to make it.
2. Bob Logic - Bob has a gift for saying things spontaneously that are either ridiculous or funny or a combination of both. Today's Bob Logic - Bob to me: "So what's your opinion? I mean, really, it's second to God's because both of you can make my life hell." Me: (uncontrollable laughter!) To clarify, this was not during an argument it was just Bob's way of saying, "Tell me what you want me to do because I'll do whatever you want." So so FUNNY!!
3. Late last night Jayden and Jillayne came over to drop off some forms for me. While we were chatting it up, I heard a noise at the front door. I said something like, "BOB GET THE BAT!!" He went to check out the noise and found Regan plastering my door with hearts. They also brought over some cupcakes ;) and a picture from Jessah.

I guess smashing your car has it's perks!

Phoenix Project: Day 95

Well, today didn't go exactly as I planned. I was supposed to go to Toronto with our youth for a temple trip and we rented a bus to get there. We had such a great turn out that the bus filled up with youth and some of the leaders had to drive. I took my car with Meagan and Myril.

We were about 20 minutes from the temple in Toronto and traffic was moving pretty good. A car, driven by a little old man, came down off an over pass and, without signalling, moved right into us. I swerved to get out of his way but I lost control of my car, fishtailed across 5 lanes of traffic, spun a 180 and hit a retaining wall.

We were so lucky that we didn't hit any other vehicles. It could have been so much worse. None of us were seriously injured; Meagan hit her knee and we took her to the hospital to have it checked out and it's bruised but it should be ok.

Phoenix Project: Day 94

Tonight we hosted a Youth Sports Night! We had a great turn out and the kids seemed to really enjoy the activities. Mike did an awesome job teaching martial arts and Crystal taught a great beginner yoga class. I was really impressed with the time and effort Mike and Crystal put into making this activity a success. Jenn put together a fantastic spread of healthy snacks, which everyone LOVED!

Phoenix Project: Day 93

Have I mentioned that it's been a busy week? I was listening to One Republic's song, Marchin' On and some days it really feels like I just moving one foot in front of the other--like I have to keep moving forward but I can't think about how far I need to go...it's all about the next step and getting through the next hour or the next task. Just keep moving...

Lucky me, I was invited to a FREE showing of Iron Man 2 with my friend Aimee. What a great evening with a great friend! We've both been so busy with life that we've haven't had a lot of time to just get together so it was so nice to get out and catch up. Aimee is one of those people that juggles a job (or two), kids, church responsibilities and all the other things that life brings but she's always saying to me, "If you need anything..."

I had such a great night with awesome conversation and CHOCOLATE with an awesome friend!

Phoenix Project: Day 92

So far, it's been an INSANELY busy week. Tonight I was at the church having a mother/daughter activity with Kailyn and Bob was with his scouts. I wasn't sure what to do with Lukas and, even though Bob probably could have taken Lukas with him, I didn't want him to be up too late on a school night. I persuaded Jillayne to come over and watch him until I could get home.

By the time I got home, I was exhausted! Truly, I wanted to collapse on the couch and not move for the rest of the night. But, being some what responsible, I headed into the kitchen to look at (not do) the dishes from dinner. What I found was a clean kitchen with all the dishes washed and counter cleaned.

I know it probably wasn't a big thing for Jillayne to tidy up the kitchen for me but (I'll blame it on the exhaustion) I almost cried because I was so happy that I didn't have to do them AND didn't feel guilty for not doing them. She spent her night watching Lukas AND did my dishes...her simple act of service completely turned my day around.

Phoenix Project: Day 91

Dinner and movie? Absolutely! Tonight was date night so Bob and I left the kids with Naye and went out for a little time to ourselves. We chatted about things we wanted in the future and reminisced about the last dozen years that we've spent together. We had fantastic food (I really REALLY love food) and then relaxed during a movie.

Honestly, life seems so busy that we rarely get to spend any time together. I don't want to be one of those couples that grows apart as they grow older--I want to grow together and have fun! I want our kids to grow up knowing that their parents really love each other, even if they think it's gross!

Yes, Bob's out of the doghouse...for now ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 90

It's been one of THOSE days. I had a challenging day at work, Bob was in the doghouse, I haven't been to the gym in days, Kailyn needed to get to ballet and I was running on empty. I really REALLY just needed to PUNCH something! Naye picked up Lukas after school so I texted her and asked if she could stay later. She is amazing! She didn't mind staying so I came home, quickly changed, dropped Kailyn off at ballet and went straight to the gym. I had no idea what classes were running but I decided it didn't matter and I'd slip into whatever class was open.

I walked in and checked the schedule and headed into...

...INTERVAL BOXING!! What could be more perfect? I needed to punch something and they gave me gloves and a punching bag! It was the BEST class for me tonight!

Phoenix Project: Day 89

MOTHER'S DAY!! I am so grateful for the many wonderful women in my life. I have my Mom--she's always been amazing! She's the type of person who can do anything: cook, clean, work, fix a washing machine, lay tile, sew, knit, computer programming, shop, babysit, re-wire a lamp...she's practically a super star!

I have wonderful grandmothers who still spoil me. I am blessed with aunts who are still very involved and connected with me and my children...Aunt Sherry calls all the time just to see how we're doing. Even though she wasn't able to have children of her own, she is cherished as a mother and grandma in our home.

I am also blessed to have sisters and sisters in-law who have inspired me to be a better mom. There have been many times that they have strengthened and sustained me when I've been overwhelmed.

Friends...good friends have made being a mother so much easier. There is something about getting together with girl friends to talk about...whatever, that decreases the amount of stress I feel. There's a saying, "If momma ain't happy, nobody's happy" and friends help make me happier!

Phoenix Project: Day 88

Today I had the opportunity to meet up with Mercy River, a musical trio from Utah, at Time Out for Women. They came up to London to perform for our youth last spring and I was able to chauffeur them back and forth to airport.

It was so amazing to spend some time with them again! They are delightful women, not only are they beautiful singers but they are also busy moms! They have 10 kids between the three of them and they travel around Canada and the US sharing their amazing talents. After having some lunch and a delicious butter chicken dinner, catching up and laughing it up, Meagan and I said goodbye to Soni, Whitney and Brooke.

Phoenix Project: Day 87

I have a lot to be grateful for. Today is my 11th wedding anniversary...yep, 11 years! It seems like yesterday but at the same time like we've always been together. In these last 11 years we've been through so much--good and bad and we're still here. We're still strong!

How did we celebrate? I spent the weekend at Time Out for Women with my friend, Meagan! I really admire her ability to make me laugh, even in the craziest situations. I have learned a lot from her about how to make the best of all circumstances.

And what about Bob? Bob was hanging out with his very first missionary companion. They haven't seen each other in 14 years! Even though we didn't really see much of each other, it was still a great anniversary.

Phoenix Project: Day 86

Today I attended a Relief Society (the women's group of our church) function and I was listening to my friend, Jill, talk about how she gives service to others. She described a situation where she was asked to befriend a old grouchy lady in her congregation and as she served this women, they built a strong friendship. I was really impressed with her determination to help others and I want to follow that example and reach beyond my comfort zone to help those around me.

Phoenix Project: Day 85

Today my inspiration for this post comes from Lukas' ninjutsu class. Usually I drop Lukas off and Bob picks him up on his way home but Bob's working out of town so I just waited and watched the class. Lukas has an amazing teacher! He's very engaging and fun but also disciplined. Today there were new students in his class and during one exercise the entire class of 6 - 9 year olds had to hold a push up position...for EVER! The new kids were wiggling around and couldn't hold it very long but Lukas did a really great job. At one point, his instructor said, "Look at Lukas! He's a MACHINE! Look at how well he's doing!"

As soon as the class ended Lukas came running running over to me and said, "Did you hear what he said to me? He said that I'm a MACHINE!"

I am always impressed to see others build self confidence and self esteem in my children. Lukas has definitely made great strides with his class under the dedicated teaching of his instructor. I would really love to learn how to build up others the way this wonderful teacher did.

Phoenix Project: Day 84

I've been working on my Personal Progress (which is a goal setting program used in our church with the 12-18 year old girls to help them develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and socially) and because I'm a leader, I need to set the example and complete mine as well.

For the next couple of weeks I'm working on this goal:

• Read Doctrine and Covenants 18:10 and 121:45. Do all you can to build others and make them feel of worth. Every day for two weeks notice the worthwhile qualities and attributes of others. Acknowledge them verbally or in writing. In your journal write what you have learned about the worth of individuals and how your own confidence grows when you build others.

This goal is really good for me because, not only does it fit in with my Phoenix Project in being a more positive person but it also helps me look outside of myself and what I'm doing and look at other around me.

My inspiration for today comes from Bob. He had a really long day at work and didn't get home until 7:30. When he walked in the door I asked him if he wanted me to make him some dinner and he said he'd get something in a few minutes. Then he disappeared. After about 40 minutes I went to check on him and he was upstairs with Lukas; both of them were sitting on the floor playing a game and chatting back and forth. About 20 minutes later he came down and talked with Kailyn for a while then about 9:00 he headed to the kitchen for some dinner. He has always been an amazing dad but I think he gets better as he gets older! He always makes time for his kids even when it's not convenient.

Phoenix Project: Day 83

Today was a fantastic day! People commented all day on the pictures that Jayden took...it was great to hear from people I haven't talked to in a while and receive such great compliments! Bob was home early, which NEVER happens and we took Kailyn to ballet and then spent an hour hanging out with Lukas. It was just a great day!

Phoenix Project: Day 82

Today was an amazing day! We've been trying to get our family pictures taken for a few weeks but the weather and scheduling hasn't worked out...until today! Jayden is a fantastic photographer! Phoenix Project: Day 81

Saturday! The day to catch up on everything we couldn't get done during the week. Today was groceries, cleaning and gardening! This is our second attempt at having our own garden and the kids are really excited to pick out the seeds they want to plant, preparing the garden and watching them grow. This year they picked: corn, cucumbers, watermelon, pumpkins, onions, lettuce and I picked some herbs to start a mini herb garden. Really, we only have a few of each one because our garden is 2 feet by 8 feet but I think it's probably a good idea for us to start small.

It was a great day to work together!

Phoenix Project: Day 80

Friday night was school fundraiser night and I really appreciated how much work the parents and teachers put into creating a successful and profitable night. I am so glad that KC has been able to attend such an amazing school--she's doing so well and is making really good friends. We are truly very lucky that she was accepted into this program!

Phoenix Project: Day 79

Another busy day! When I got home from work I realized that we didn't have any granola bars for the kids lunches for Friday. I decided to whip up a batch of cookies--and they were delicious. As I was finishing them up I remembered that I had volunteered to bring a cake into Kailyn's school fundraiser on Friday. So I quickly mixed up a homemade cake and I was mixing in the final ingredient, pure almond extract, when it hit me that ALMONDS can't be in a nut-free school. So I had to finish the cake I started and then start a new NUT-FREE one. Did I mention that I was racing out to a 7:30 meeting??

Best part of the day? That would have been when Bob stepped in to help me make the 2nd cake for the school. He also stayed up with me while I decorated it. I am so glad that I didn't have to stay up late all by myself ;)

I was at work today and my co-worker sent me a link to peopleofwalmart.com. I came across a photo that made me laugh so hard that my boss thought I was crying and came out of his office to check on me. When I could compose myself, I showed him this picture:

Phoenix Project: Day 77

Today I went to the gym, then cleaning with Kelly, back home to clean up and then off to see the Elisa and Aimee. I had so much fun chatting and doing pedicures for the ladies...we stayed up way too late and ate a lot of junk but it was totally worth it!

Phoenix Project: Day 76

Today was kind of a crappy day but I had 2 really great pick-me-ups:

1. Find a word that sounds ridiculous and say it 10 times fast. I like mukluk...just saying it makes me crack up!
2. I went to pick up a few things from Walmart while KC was at ballet and I have a friend that works in the McDonald's. When I saw her and told her I was having a bad day and that I needed a diet coke, she gave it to me for FREE. I tried to tell her the diet coke totally made my day but she didn't believe me--but it really did make it a million times better!

We have the book, "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day; it's about a little boy who has the worst day ever! Everything that could go wrong does and the moral of the story is that some days are like that--terrible, horrible, no good, very bad--even is Australia!

Phoenix Project: Day 75

Today Bob and I were down in Windsor for another ward conference and Kelly and Richard kept KC and Lukas. It was a great day but by the time we made it back to pick up the kids we were both exhausted. Kelly was wonderful and asked us to stay for dinner--which was a really big deal for me because I was so tired and the last thing I wanted to do was go home and make supper. That was definitely a highlight for me!

Phoenix Project: Day 74

Today was...

...FUNNY! Bob received a phone call earlier this week from our friend Mike. He asked Bob if he would come to his 4 year old son's birthday party dressed as BATMAN! Mike said that he'd rent a Batman suit and all Bob would have to do is come over and eat cake and play with the kids.

me: I guess this means that you'll have start practicing your Batman voice.

Bob (in a very realistic Batman voice): I am BATMAN!

me: What the?!?? Do you practice talking like Batman on your way to work or something??

Bob: NO!.........Yes. Why wouldn't I?? IT'S BATMAN!

When Bob gets to the birthday party, Romeo (the birthday boy) is so excited to see him! Batman asks, "Romeo, who's your favorite super hero?" and Romeo responds, "It's Ba...it's YOU!"

We had a great time at the party and Bob was a fantastic Batman. When it was time for Batman to leave, he said good bye to all the kids and then raced up this steep hill behind their house and launched himself up and over their 10 foot fence. It was so FUNNY! All of the adults were crossing their fingers that he would make it over--it wouldn't have worked if Batman fell off the fence! Lucky for all of us, he cleared it!

Phoenix Project: Day 73

I had an awesome day planned for today. The kids had no school so I took the day off work. I usually go to the gym on Friday mornings so our AMAZING kid-sitter came over bright and early to watch the kids while I was working out. When I came home I wasn't feeling very well so I took a cat nap on the couch while the kids were watching movies. Bob and I had planned to drive to Toronto on Friday night to visit the temple but Bob called early in the afternoon and said he'd heard rumors that the building was closed for cleaning. I called to confirm and yes, it was closed.

We were a little bummed but decided that we'd go to the Detroit temple tomorrow instead. It turned out really great because we spent the night in with the kids doing our favorite Friday night things...movies and popcorn!

Phoenix Project: Day 72

Lukas has never been a good sleeper. He went to play at a friend's house after school today and after dinner we were sitting around talking with friends. After a while, I noticed that Lukas had disappeared. It took a brief search to find him:

Phoenix Project: Day 71

I got a facebook message from a friend and when I read it, I totally laughed out loud! She shares a facebook account with her husband (which I should consider doing as well because Bob NEVER uses facebook--I think he has 40ish friend requests that he hasn't seen yet) Here's the message in it's entirety:

Alberta's calling....Oh, and just so you know, I'm completely NUDE while typing this! (Well, not COMPLETELY... I've got a towel on my head!) And this is Lisa*. Not Mike*. Again, that'd be weird(er).

Ha ha!! It was so funny!

Since being out here, the question we've been asked most often is, "When are you coming back?" Honestly, I have no idea. The move was much harder on the kids and it more expensive than anticipated. We LOVE all our friends and family in Alberta and miss everyone very much. We are clueless as to when and where our next move will be.

Phoenix Project: Day 70

I have been looking forward to today for WEEKS! I went to have my hair done...this is probably one of my favorite things and even though it hasn't been that long, my hair has grown really fast and my roots were ridiculous! Lukas was talking to me a few days ago and asked, "Mom, when are you going to have your hair done? It's been the same color for a really long time!" I went back to being a brunette in September and apparently, that's a really long time to keep the same color!

My hair is done and looking fabulous and yes, there will be pictures soon.

Phoenix Project: Day 69

I was on the computer today looking for a new bike for Lukas. He has outgrown his bike and we're trying to get him to ride without training wheels. I was only searching for a few minutes when I found one that was perfect! We packed everyone up and drove down to take a look. Lukas really liked it! Hopefully in the next little while he'll be riding around all by himself!

Phoenix Project: Day 68

My apologies again for the delay--my computer is temperamental at times and it's been difficult to get it to work properly.

Today was a unit conference in La Salle, which meets in the Windsor building. I LOVE travelling to visit the different wards/branches:

1. They feed us and the food is usually AWESOME--I think anything I don't have to cook myself is awesome.
2. I get to know a lot of the girls and their leaders.
3. I get to dodge giving talks in my own ward ;)
4. Did I mention the food?

It was a great visit and I got to catch up with some of the girls and was introduced to their new leader (who is amazing and has great taste in shoes!) Next week, I'm back in Windsor for the Windsor ward conference...hooray!

Phoenix Project: Day 67

Saturdays are a day that I really look forward to--it means the work week is over and I can sleep in...except that I get up early and go to the gym and then it's racing around trying to do everything before I have to go back to work. Today was a little different though. We had a youth activity for kids 12-18 and it was being held at a building that was 1 1/2 hours away. We had a spiritual message, games, bbq hamburgers and hot dogs, more games and we rented a pool for the 12-13 kids to go swimming while the older kids had a dance.

The entire evening was great and the kids seemed to have a lot of fun BUT the BEST part was watching the kids play Red Rover. They were so funny! (I tried to upload the video from my phone but it didn't work.) I'll have to keep working on those videos so I can post them too.

But, it was a great night! Many thanks to those that worked so hard to make this activity a success!

Phoenix Project: Day 66

It's MOVIE night! If Lukas has a good week at school, he gets to pick a movie to rent on Friday night. He had a great week so Friday night we went to the local movie store to pick something out for him. He decided to get AstroBoy and we crashed on the couch with KC and watched the movie together. I love these nights!

KC was a good sport and watched the movie but had to let me know that she's getting too old for cartoons.

Phoenix Project: Day 65

Work has been so busy for the last couple of weeks. We're getting new accounting software so we're being trained on how to use it; this means, on top of what we have to get done already, we have a LOT to learn. Lucky for me, the lady I work with is amazing with accounting EVERYTHING and she's a great teacher. Busy work = bigger pay cheque too so that will be nice.

After work today I had a meeting with some of the other youth leaders and youth to discuss upcoming activities and projects. I am so impressed with our youth--they are such amazing kids. It has been so fun and uplifting to be able to work with them. I am so excited for the activities that we have coming up this summer! It's going to be so FANTASTIC!!

Phoenix Project: Day 64

Today we went to KC's school for their Sharing Night. All the grade 4s performed singing, dancing, piano, recorder (my least favorite instrument) and a readers theatre. It's so amazing to see how much they've grown and developed since September. KC absolutely loves her school and, even though it's a long day and an hour long bus ride.

She's working on a medieval project right now and all their activities have been about that time period--she loves it!!

Lukas even had a good time watching the older kids perform.

Phoenix Project: Day 63

Today was a really busy day at work. We're having a youth activity this Saturday and I'm working with a partner to plan the activites for the younger teens. So, while I was sorting through a bunch of papers on my desk, I got an email from my coordinating partner saying that he needed to help fill in with the older teens and wouldn't really be there to help me. I totally understood his position but I was a bit nervous about how I was going to entertain these teens.

Before I even had a chance to respond to his email, I got another email from a different committee member volunteering to come up with games and help me with the activity.

HOORAY!

Phoenix Project: Day 62

The best part of today was that Bob came home early (for him) and was able to pick up KC from ballet. It was so nice to be able to drop her off and come home for the night--usually I have to drive to work (in the morning) on the south side of the city, leave there to pick up KC from school on the east side, drive home to the northwest side so she can get changed into her ballet clothes, drive her to the dance studio (which is only 7 minutes from the house), come home and start dinner and leave 40 minutes later to go and pick her up again.

It was just so nice to come home and kick off my shoes, make dinner and SIT down ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 61

After church today we met up with friends to have dinner. On our way home the kids saw a wishing star. Lukas said:

Do you know what I wished for? I didn't wish for anything for myself...I wished that all the people in the world that don't have food will have some.

I was really taken back. I didn't realize that he could comprehend the needs of others and actually want to do something to help. Kids can be really amazing!

Phoenix Project: Day 60

Today we had a Spring Clean Up at our church building. When we told Lukas, he was so upset. He didn't want to waste his day cleaning anything! I asked him if he knew who the church belonged to and he said that it belonged to God and Jesus. We discussed that we needed to go and help clean God's house.

Later, I was talking to friend of mine who had been supervising the kids picking weeds and garbage outside the building. She said that Lukas did a really great job and at one point picked up some garbage and said, "God would NOT like this in His garden!"

Phoenix Project: Day 59

I went home after a long day at work; not that the work was challenging but I had so much weighing on my mind that it was difficult to concentrate and stay focused. Bob called me to let me know that he wouldn't be home until 9:30 and I was on my own with the kids. The first thing I did was...

order pizza...

I'll admit that I was a little bummed out that it would just be me and kids--not that I wasn't happy to be with the kids but I couldn't stop stressing and I need to be distracted. I actually said, "I really need to be distracted from all of this...maybe I could start calling people and invite myself over." But, I decided that would be too desperate ;) so I ordered pizza and crashed in front of the TV with KC. About 15 minutes later, I get a text from a couple of friends wanting to come over. I know they had NO IDEA how much I need to have some fun or how much I really appreciated the company while I waited for Bob to come home.

Today I am really grateful for pizza and friends!

Phoenix Project: Day 58

Today was a

Phoenix Project: Day 57

I find that music has a large impact on my mood. I love listening to KC play the piano; it brings a very calming feeling into the house...most of the time. When I started running (really I mean jogging...slowly) I filled my iPod with songs that had the word "run" in the lyrics to help keep me motivated, especially when I started to get tired. It was so much easier to stay focused with the Blackeyed Peas singing, "...keep runnin' runnin'"

I also use music when I'm trying to de-stressed and need to sing/shout something; this occurs most frequently in the car. I've found it really helpful to listen to music that uplifts me and makes me feel better even when things are challenging; usually the theme is something to do with holding on...or hang in there or don't give up. It probably sounds a little crazy but it makes me feel so much better.

This project has not eliminated the challenges in my life but it has certainly helped me gain a better perspective...I might be figuratively 'broken' but I'm still here. I'm still trying. I'm still holding on...but I'm also discovering joy in this experience.

Phoenix Project: Day 56

Another day spent running in circles...work, home, karate, home, church and finally home. On our way home at the end of another busy day, I told Bob that I'd have to stop to gas up my car. I didn't really want to because Lukas had been pretty grouchy and I just wanted to get him home and ready for bed.

As we pulled into the service station, Lukas said, "Can I do it? Can I do it? Can I do it?" He's never pumped gas before and I wasn't really comfortable with Bob providing the adult supervision as my 6 year old tried to fill up my car; but, I relented and the two of them went to work.

Lukas did a great job and didn't spill gas on himself or on the car--miracles happen! He was so proud of himself! He kept saying, "I did it! Did you see me? I did it!!"

Kids are so cute...most of the time!

Phoenix Project: Day 55

Today the kids had the day off school and (because my schedule is so flexible) I was able to stay home and spend the day with them. We went to the park with friends and had a delicious dinner together. It's funny because they have 3 kids: a 12 (almost 13) year old daughter, a 9 (almost 10) year old son and an 10 month old. KC gets along really well with Kat -- one day, KC told me that when Kat comes to babysit that they just hang out like "normal" friends...and talk about how much their parents yell at them and NEVER yell at their younger brothers. Lukas really likes Mike and Mike does his best to take care of Lukas. During dinner Mike was advocating for Lukas, "If Lukas eats 5 more big bites, can he still have brownies?" It was really amazing to see these kids interact together; it's like they've always been friends.

I'm really grateful to have the support of good friends...not just for myself but for my kids. Our family has been blessed with good friends and it makes life so much easier!

Back to the gym--it was pretty necessary to head back to the gym after eating all the delicious food and treats from Friday so I was up early to get in a workout before starting the rest of my day. After the gym I went to help a friend for a few hours and then headed home to be with the kids so Bob could attend the Priesthood Session of General Conference.

I got the kids ready for bed and, finally, around 10:00 they went to sleep. Bob came home from his meeting and was tinkering around for a while and then came in with FLOWERS! He never brings me flowers!!! Hooray for me! It made my day!

Phoenix Project: Day 52

It's PASSOVER! At least it was Passover for us! Last year our friends invited us to come for Passover and it was such an AMAZING experience that I didn't want to miss it this year!

We started the day with a ward brunch; there was a huge turn out and lots of delicious food. The YW of their ward were raising money with a bake auction. I actually took the dessert I made for our dinner to the auction so we could buy it and bring it back--just to give them a little extra money.

The request for dessert was "Sticky Toffee Pudding" and I had no idea what that was...so I googled it! Then I compared a bunch of different recipes to see which one was best. The recipe I used was easy and delicious--which is always a bonus.

We wanted to raise a few dollars for the cake but we didn't want someone else to outbid us; when I filled out the card I called it, "Fruit Cake" which sounds much less desirable than "Sticky Toffee Pudding". It does actually contain dates so therefore falls into the Fruit Cake Category so I didn't feel too bad about the name. Lucky for us, we won all the desserts we put bids on!

Dinner was AMAZING again this year. The marinated leg of lamb was roasted outside on the fire and we had roasted potatoes, pitas and greens to accompany it. The whole experience was memorable. It has definitely changed the way I think about the Easter season...we gone beyond the bunny. We spent the day surrounded by good friends, good food and great conversation--I don't think it gets any better than that!

Phoenix Project: Day 51

You would think that I would take full advantage of April Fools today but, I was just too busy! First stop was the gym--I find twisted satisfaction in working out to exhaustion and today was no exception. From there I went to work with Kelly. By the time I got home, I was disgusting--covered in grime from work. I got cleaned up and Lukas and I went grocery shopping. He's too big to be riding in the cart but small enough that he can run away. It's always a challenge to keep him entertained so I can get the groceries. He's started helping by pushing the cart...which is great until he starts riding it into other customers.

We raced home to meet KC and I started a dessert for dinner the next day. We scrambled to get everyone packed up and (after dessert was done) we headed down to Windsor.

The best part of my day was during the ride on the way to Windsor. My best friend, Allyson, called and we talked for almost an hour! Thankfully, I had my bluetooth for my phone and could chat. It was nice to be able to talk for that long, uninterrupted. We were able to catch up on the details of our day to day lives and recount recent funny kid stories!! I can't imagine what life would be like without modern technology!

Phoenix Project: Day 50

Another busy but fulfilling day! Bob was working late so it was just me and the kids. After work and dinner we had a wonderful evening relaxing. It's nice when the kids actually want to have down time instead of me forcing them to slow down. The snuggly kids were the best part of the day!

Phoenix Project: Day 49

Today was Jillayne's birthday! I was able to attend an exclusive party in her honour and I was delighted to provide the birthday cake--a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. The evening included watching "The Blind Side" which was AMAZING and eating greek pizza.

Jillayne is absolutely FABULOUS!! We have spent many hours devouring ethnic food all over the city of London. One of our most favorite places to go has been WONDER SUSHI!! Yep, all you can eat and the two of us took on that challenge!

Phoenix Project: Day 48

Monday was a pretty busy--it's feels like I'm constantly running but not really going anywhere. I finally got home, fed the kids, did the dishes and crashed on the couch with KC and Lukas. Lukas brought his library book to read to me. Scaredy Squirrel is one of his favorites and Lukas is so animated when he reads it.
Melanie Watt is funny and creative!! Lukas loves to read about all the crazy trouble he gets into. It's so cute to listen to him read, especially when he starts laughing but keeps reading and you can't understand what he's saying! Love it!!

Phoenix Project: Day 47

We've been having some computer issues so I'm playing catch up a little. Sunday was a great day. On our way to church it started raining--a lot. I was wearing my beautiful black satin pumps and refused to get them wet. I made a comment to the girls in my car that I'd have to take my shoes off and run barefoot into the building to protect them from the rain. My friend Jillayne said, "Seriously?? That would totally make my day to see you run into the church like that!" My response, of course, was "I'm not doing it for you; I'm doing it for my shoes!" They've been mocking me all week ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 46

Today I am so grateful for good friends--amazing friends, actually. Bob's been planning for the past few weeks to go to Toronto with the youth of our ward to visit the temple. I wasn't going to go--it's really tough for us to find someone to keep KC and Lukas all day, especially on a Saturday.

I am the luckiest because my wonderful friend, Jenn, not only agreed to watch the kids today so I could go with Bob, but also offered to have them sleepover on Friday so it wouldn't be such a crazy, early morning for them AND said that she would get KC to ballet this morning. When I called her to say I was on my way to pick the kids up, she insisted that the kids were fine and that I should go home and take a nap!

I am so lucky to be surrounded by good friends!

Phoenix Project: Day 44

Thursdays are a good day for me--whatever happens during the day can be laughed away during Thursday night tv! But, despite the hilarious tv, it was a good day. I've noticed lately that I am constantly surrounded by static noise. I've started driving to work without the radio so I can think uninterrupted. It's been a really nice change of pace. Of course, I still turn it up as loud as possible on the way home so I can sing...without hearing my voice!

It's all about balance, right?

Phoenix Project: Day 43

I realize that everyday will have ups and downs and today I hit a bump--Lukas has been struggling quite a bit over the last year. Before Christmas we were taking him to meet with a psychologist to try and understand what he was feeling and how we could help. When he came home from school he went straight upstairs. I asked him how his day was and he said "Good!" as he was running by. When I went to check his planner he refused to let me see it. He said that he didn't want me to see what was inside. When I opened it I found a note from his teacher about his behavior and when I questioned Lukas about it, he couldn't really remember what happened...yeah right. So I marched him back to the school to find his teacher.

She went through exactly what happened and what the consequences would be; she also explained that Lukas knew what he had done and that he was supposed to tell me about it when he got home. The three of us were able to talk about everything and I feel very reassured by Ms. K that despite the bad day, Lukas has improved a lot since the beginning of the year.

I am so grateful that Lukas has an amazing teacher! It has made all the difference this year. We know that Lukas has some challenges but it is wonderful to work with his teachers and feel like we're accomplishing something--even if today was a bad day.

I walked away from the school feeling strengthened and uplifted, which given the situation, might not have been the case.

Phoenix Project: Day 42

Today was a work day but I was able to get to the gym first...which, because it was Tuesday, was KILLER! I packed up my make up and shampoo so I could just shower at the gym and then go straight to work. But...I forgot to put mascara in my bag!! Yikes! Seriously, mascara is a MUST have. Luckily, I was getting low anyway so I stopped by Shoppers and picked up a new one...my favorite:Yep--I love what it does for my lashes ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 41

Today it's all about:

SLEEP.

Phoenix Project: Day 40

There were 3 big things that stood out to me today:

1. Our sacrament meeting (which is where the WHOLE congregation meets together) had 2 amazing talks about modesty. One of the standards we try to teach our youth is modesty and it's very challenging especially with many of today's fashion trends. We avoid short skirts and shorts and we try to find clothing that covers our shoulders, backs and navels. In addition, we also avoid clothing that is too tight or revealing. Both talks discussed the purpose of modesty and the challenges we face in trying to keep this standard.
2. KC and Lukas were getting ready for bed and Lukas, being REALLY over tired and grouchy was whining about EVERYTHING. I hugged him and sent him to bed and then went to put on my pjs. A few minutes later I heard KC singing lullabies to Lukas to help him fall asleep. AAAAWWWWEEEE! So amazing!
3. I chatted on the phone with my sister and she relayed the funniest story to me. Apparently, her daughter Zoe was playing with our best friends kids, Jaxon and Rylee. The three of them were playing house when my best friend Allyson overheard them--they were pretending to be Hot Bob (which is what we call Bob), me and KC! I laughed out loud!! Kids are so funny!

The more I stop and look for positive things, the harder it is to see the challenges. I've seen a huge difference in my outlook since the commencement of this project and I'm excited to see more progress.

Phoenix Project: Day 39

Saturdays seem to be a chaotic day at our house--a catch up on everything that didn't get done during the week. Cleaning, groceries, gardening, organizing, ballet class for KC, blah, blah and more blah. There is rarely relaxing on Saturdays. Today, after a workout at the gym and a shower, KC and I went to Costco to grab a few groceries and some free samples...Saturday is a great day for samples! KC is learning all about grocery shopping and cooking; she's really excited to be involved in the whole process. After a successful trip to Costco the two of us went for lunch!

That was the BEST part of the day!

We went to Boston Pizza and spent time chatting about school, birthday plans, favorite things and enjoyed a delicious lunch! It was fun to go out, just the two of us and talk. I can't believe how mature she is...most of the time ;) It seems like the last 10 years have raced by.

I am definitely blessed to have a daughter as wonderful as she is!

Phoenix Project: Day 38

The kids were on Spring Break this week and it's been a little tough because I still have to work so I feel more guilty about not being home and getting a sitter for them (even though I have a GREAT sitter). Having them home during the day also messes with my schedule a bit too. Usually I go to the gym on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings to workout and catch a class or two. This morning our sitter came over to watch the kids while I went to the gym but just as I was walking out the door our neighbour called to invite us to a maple sugar farm. I told her I wouldn't be able to go because I was leaving for the gym so she offered to take the kids with her.

I went to the gym and the kids went out for a day trip with all their neighbourhood friends. I was able to meet up with them all after and spent the rest of the day/evening hanging out. It was wonderful to just spend time together and let the kids run around and play. It was a great way to spend a Friday afternoon!

Phoenix Project: Day 37

Random funny story...this actually happened the other day but I forgot to post it. I'm having dinner with the kids and we're talking about how their day, you know, just chatting. We starting talking about Jesus and how He loves children and Lukas was really surprised. He thought that Jesus didn't really like kids. As I'm trying to explain it to him, Kailyn interrupts and says, "Seriously Lukas, Jesus loves kids...if He was our babysitter I bet He'd take us BOWLING!" Truly, the most random statement EVER!!

Today I was driving the kids to piano and they're chatting in the back seat. Lukas gets suddenly really excited and says, "Hey guys!! You know what?! One day, I was at school looking at CLOUDS and do you know what they looked like? One of them looked like a FLYING HIPPOPOTAMUS and the other looked like a MUSTACHE!"

Apparently my children are experts in the art of random tidbits of crazy information!! Ha ha! At least it keeps things interesting!

Phoenix Project: Day 36

It was a beautiful day today! The sun was shining...my sun roof was open...I even brought out my sandals and Capri's. I am ready for Spring! Bring on the BBQ and the parks; I can't wait for the flowers to pop open and the grass to turn green. I tried really hard to be positive all day today but there was one sign of Spring that grossed me out...

ROAD KILL!

Yep, they're back! Everywhere I look is a squished animal on the road--skunks, raccoons, squirrels and other unidentifiable critters. It looks like pet cemetery out there! I guess the plus in all this gross-ness is the instant loss of appetite. It's hard to think about snacking with that image in your mind--or, if you've driven by a skunk, that smell stuck to you!

Phoenix Project: Day 34

I'm still feeling a bit of an energy drain leftover from the weekend but my day was good and productive. I've been looking for another part time job in addition to the one I already have and today I had a interview! Work is hard to find and good work is almost impossible but I think the interview went well though.

I also got a new phone! Hooray!! We've had the old one for almost 3 years and it's been acting really weird. We use it as a home phone so if it isn't working, we really have a problem. Hopefully the new one will work well for us.

Phoenix Project: Day 33

This weekend has been long but good. Sunday wrapped up the weekend with a early morning ward conference and then home to take a well deserved nap. Before crashing, I treated myself to a chick movie and just relaxed on the couch until Bob got home with the kids. What a weekend!

Phoenix Project: Day 32

What an exhausting, but inspiring, day! Today I'm grateful that:

1. Best of EFY was so amazing. We had huge numbers (400+ kids), a wonderful speaker and everything went relatively smooth.
2. IT'S OVER (for another year ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 31

Wow--I'm not sure what was the best part of my day. It could have been shopping at Costco with Kelly; we used to go shopping for groceries together all the time and it was really nice to spend a few minutes sampling and looking for deals! It could have been preparing for our Best of Especially for Youth Conference and finishing up last minute details...I loved seeing all the youth having a great time. It makes me feel like all the work was worth it! We have so many amazing youth in this region and it is a privilege to get to know them. I'm also grateful for a wonderful babysitter who came to stay with Lukas while Bob and I were helping with the conference and for Pilling who stepped in at the last moment to help me ;)

Phoenix Project: Day 30

I was waiting to do an audio/visual check for a conference this weekend and I got a phone call from my Mom. She said "I love your blog! It makes me feel so connected to you guys!" I am grateful for technology that brings us closer together...and for my Mom, who thinks I'm AMAZING!!

Phoenix Project: Day 29

I have to admit that I was little concerned about how I'd be feeling today. Last week, after hitting the gym for an INTENSIVE workout, I could barely move the next day...at all. I couldn't raise my arms; it hurt to shift gears in my car or use my mouse at work. It hurt to sit down or stand up (especially since I didn't have full use of my arms). My abs hurt so bad to move in any direction...and then I sneezed and I thought I was going to die! Do you have any idea how much your abs contract when you sneeze?? I had no clue until last week. So, what did I do about it? Went back to the class again this week!

To my pleasant surprise, I was slightly sore but could get myself out of bed and dressed all by myself! Hooray! Yep, I didn't have to fight back tears at all ;)

I was also able to attend another New Beginnings tonight. It's interesting because every unit is a little different but they're all working towards common goals and themes. Plus, I really LOVE these girls!! They are so amazing and talented and FUNNY and cute! It is such a joy to get to know them!

Phoenix Project: Day 28

Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised at what the day holds. I had an awesome (yet killer) workout followed by SUBWAY with Kelly. Today was a house cleaning day...I hate cleaning but it's what has to be done right now. I spent the afternoon working with Kelly--it's much easier than doing it myself and way more fun! I also got a surprise visit from Jess which was AMAZING! I totally love that girl and I've missed her since she's gone away to school...but lucky me! It's spring break for her and she's back for a visit!

Phoenix Project: Day 27

Today felt like I was constantly rushing. I left for work a few minutes early (which rarely happens) and got almost half way there and realized I left my cell phone and wallet on the coffee table...back home and then slightly late for work. After work on Mondays I always drive over and pick Kailyn up from school because she has ballet and her bus doesn't get her home until 5:20. Traffic was unusually busy BUT it was so beautiful out that I opened the sunroof, blasted the radio and sang as loud as possible!

Rushed from the school home and rushed from home to the ballet studio and was about to rush home to start dinner before rushing back to ballet studio when Kailyn said, "Umm, I think it's parent's day and you can come in and watch my class." I parked the car and Lukas and I went in to view the class.

There's something relaxing about watching ballet--they are so graceful and the music is soothing--I could almost fall asleep. It was really great to stop in the middle of a busy day and watch Kailyn's class; it helped me to slow down and enjoy the really important things.

Phoenix Project: Day 26

There was a special Stake (regional) Conference held today that we were able to attend. Elder M. Russell Ballard, one of the Apostles of our church, came and spoke to us; it was an uplifting experience to hear what he had to say.



There was a focus on family, faith and missionary work which kind of goes along with my personal goals. I spent the afternoon reflecting on his counsel and became more dedicated to continue and magnify the goals that I've set for myself. It was a great way to finish up the weekend and get ready for another week!

Phoenix Project: Day 25

Saturday! Bob and the kids helped me to get the house all clean and Lukas was so cute!

Lukas: Mom, I made your bed for you!
Mom: Thanks Lukas...did you make your bed too?
Lukas: Nope! Just yours.

Phoenix Project: Day 24

Today I finally had a day off! Hooray! It's Friday, there's no work...does it get any better? After going to the gym, I spent the rest of the day working on our family budget. Yep--I've been doing so research and I found a spreadsheet to help track our income and expenses and hopefully, pay down our debt. I've been watching 'Til Debt do us Part to get some ideas and motivation to finally work through a budget. If anyone is interested in an excel spreadsheet, let me know and I'll email it to you.

I am grateful to be working on our debt and actually knowing where our money is going.

Phoenix Project: Day 23

I'm going to dedicate today's post to a very special someone:


It's my brother James! Today is his birthday (and this is probably the only photo in existence in which I am taller than him--older brother, Shawn on the left, me on the right and James front and centre) and I am grateful for him. We're only 15 1/2 months apart so growing up, we had a lot of the same friends. James LOVES rugby and I have spent many hours watching him play and cheering him on. He also loves to sing and has performed in many groups and choirs. My favorite story about James:

One night, James and a friend were driving home and James noticed the car in front of them. He said, "Hey, I know those guys--when we stop at a red light, I'm going to jump out and scare them!" At the next red light he jumped out and ran up to the car. He threw open the door and let out a Shrek-like ROAR then closed the door and walked back. As he climbed back in the vehicle he turned and said, "Wrong car--I didn't know them!" The light turned green and the car in front of them squealed off as fast as possible.

James is very kind and loves kids. When he was on his mission, he made a doll version of himself, complete with clothes and a missionary tag, and mailed back to Kailyn. It was so adorable--actually, she still has it.

I have been so blessed to have him in my life--he's been a wonderful little brother and a trusted friend. Happy Birthday!

Phoenix Project: Day 22

There are a couple of things that I didn't really expect when I started this project:

1. That people actually read my blog ;)
2. The overwhelming number of uplifting comments and emails

I have received a large number of wonderful notes from friends and family (and other people I don't know at all) cheering me on. I am so grateful for those acts of kindness--it really means so much to me. I got a card in the mail today from Mary--one of my amazing friends who lives about 10 minutes away...yep, it probably took more time to buy the card, write in the card, find a stamp and mail it than it would have taken to drive over...which is why I LOVE it! Mary is one of those people that can have fun anywhere: a cafe, the movies or browsing through the latest collection of Joe clothes at Superstore.

Today I am grateful for good friends...

Ladies Get Blessed!

We issued a challenge to all the Young Women in southwestern Ontario to write and produce a video promoting "Personal Progress." As a Stake Young Women's Presidency, we got together and produced this parody of an old rap classic...yes, I'm aware that I look ridiculous and that people will probably never take me seriously again!

Phoenix Project: Day 21

This was waiting for me when I got home from work today: My wonderful mother in-law decide that she would celebrate my "unbirthday" and surprised me with this amazing gift. She made me these beautiful aprons. I had to enlist the help of my trusty photographer, Jayden, to capture these fantastic works of art! They are so beautiful that I'm scared to use them for cooking in case they get dirty so Bob said that I could use them to cover up my dirty clothes after I finish dinner!
